An opening ceremony is to be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for the opening of the futuristic container terminal Maasvlakte II on Friday April 24, 2015.
PTI previously reported on a video showing a tour of Maasvlakte II which exhibited the plan for containers to be moved automatically via custom-built cranes.
Maasvlakte II, operated by APMT, will be the first fully automated facility with zero emissions from cargo handling equipment.
The container terminal was also the location for utilising simulation and emulation specialist TBA's Oculus Rift simulation model.
The facility has cost around US$536m to complete.
