APM Terminals has named a new Vice President and CFO: Katja Otten, who was formerly CFO for Shell's integrated gas projects business in Malaysia.

Otten was appointed on May 1, 2017 to join APM Terminals’ senior management team based at its global headquarters in The Hague.

Previously Otten spent 20 years with the Fortune-500 listed oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell. She had responsibility for a multi-billion-US-dollar investment portfolio.

Otten holds a degree in business economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, and has completed advanced business programs at the Geneva-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD), as well as the French Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD).

APMT has recently been embroiled in labour issues at a terminal in Gothenburg, Sweden, after the terminal operator warned workers they would be ‘locked-out’ for over a month beginning May, 19, 2017.

A resolution is yet to solidify in the stand-off.
