APM Terminals (APMT) Poti, Georgia, has announced that Christian Roeder will take over as Managing Director (MD) from Julián Fernández and join the company’s European Regional Leadership Team.
Roeder joined the Maersk Group in 2000 as a MISE Trainee and worked in various locations until 2011; he assumed the role of MD at Maersk Georgia from 2008 to 2009.
Throughout his career, he has held a number of high leadership positions, including Country Manager of Damco Mozambique and Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer of external transport and logistics firms. Since 2020, Christian has been the CEO of DP World in Mozambique.
Igor Van Den Essen, Regional Managing Director Africa & Europe, stated: ”Christian has substantial industry expertise, having held senior leadership positions across a variety of companies and geographies. We look forward to Christian rejoining the group and becoming an integral part of our team and contributing to our continued success together.”

In February, APMT announced that Julián Fernández, the current Managing Director of APMT Poti, will become the MD of APMT Spanish Gateways.
