APM Terminals has been announced as the winner of the Lloyd’s List North American Maritime Awards 2015 ‘Port Operator of the Year’.
The award was given in recognition of a North American port or terminal operator which has “maintained the highest standards of operational efficiency and customer service throughout the year”.
APM Terminals Port Elizabeth, based at the Port of New York / New Jersey, recorded first place in the JOC’s annual container study, with AMP Terminal’s Los Angeles ranking second.
APM Terminals Houston ranked sixth.
The North American maritime award is judged upon “exceptional innovation”, efficiency, a “sustained commitment to customer service” and “an outstanding safety and environmental record” by an independent panel of industry experts.
APM Terminals is the largest terminal operator in North America with operations in eight major American ports, including Port Elizabeth, New Jersey; Charleston, South Carolina; and Los Angeles, California.
