IT specialist akquinet AG has formed a partnership with leading ports and logistics company ISL Applications as both companies look to expand their services for ports and container terminals around the world.
Under the agreement, ISL will become a subsidiary of the akquinet Group, with the new company being called akquinet Port Consulting.
It will also see akquinet gain access to ISL’s CHESSCON TOS platform, which offers terminal simulation models that can test capacity and the operational efficiencies.

Furthermore, it also allows terminal operators to improve shift planning and initiate new, interactive training models.
Speaking about the merger, Prof. Dr. Holger Schuett, General Manager, ISL Applications, said: “As a subsidiary of akquinet AG, a strong company, we can work together with the parent company to appeal even better to its existing, global network in the field of ports and logistics and expand our business strategically.”
Norbert Klettner, General Manager, akquinet AG, also observed: “CHESSCON and the consulting services of ISL Applications have led the global market in the port sector for years and have enormous marketing potential.
