Advent eModal (AeM) has successfully implemented its eModal Community Portal (eCP) at Florida International Terminal (FIT) in Port Everglades.
This implementation incorporates the innovative PreGate and Fee Manager programmes into the overall eCP system, which improves port operations and intermodal logistics.
Hilda M. Rodriguez, Customer Success Manager at Advent eModal, said: “We are thrilled to see Florida International Terminal leverage our eModal platform following the successful implementation of our appointment systems at Port Everglades Terminal, LLC.”
The eModal platform combines AeM’s PreGate and Fee Manager apps with the Community Portal.
FIT explained that this module is critical for improving cargo visibility, enabling fee payments, and effectively handling appointment scheduling.
FIT will use these solutions to automate its container terminal operations, improving cargo handling and cutting turnaround times for both the terminal and its stakeholders.

Glenn Wiltshire, Acting Port Director for Port Everglades, stated: “FIT’s commitment to the port’s operational efficiency is evident between the recent 10-year extension of their lease and the introduction of the eModal program, which we anticipate will improve traffic flow through their terminal and the Southport cargo area.”
The system’s one-stop-shop feature is critical for managing containers and payments throughout their lifespan.
Dispatchers may now manage drivers’ schedules more effectively, allowing for greater coordination of moves among terminals in the region that have integrated the eModal system.

The implementation also incorporated Tideworks Technology’s Mainsail 10, a next-generation terminal operating system solution. AeM’s connection with Mainsail 10 enables operators to gain greater insights throughout the terminal.
Alberto Bello, CEO of Palmetto Transport, said: “The integration of eModal at both FIT and Port Everglades Terminal streamlines appointment scheduling and operations.
“This improvement is important for truckers and motor carriers, making our jobs easier and showing other terminals the benefits of adopting this system to better manage logistics and supply chain operations.”
