The Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) has announced the appointment of Ms. Sylvie Vachon as its new chair of the board for 2013-14.

Following three days of networking and discussions on the future of the Canadian maritime industry at its annual conference and AGM in Nanaimo, BC, Vachon, president and chief executive officer of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA), was unanimously elected by the ACPA’s board of directors as its new head of operations.

Bernie Dumas, president and CEO of the Nanaimo Port Authority, was also selected as the incoming vice-chair of the board, while Pierre Gagnon, president and CEO of the Port of Sept-Iles, was also appointed as incoming corporate secretary/treasurer following a year-long hiatus.
