  • OOCL’s new direct service to link UAE capital with major Asian import and export destinations

Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT) has reached an agreement with Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) to call Khalifa Port Container Terminal with their CMX service.

The string will link Abu Dhabi with major Asian import and export destinations as well as providing fast transit times to Singapore for Intra Asia distribution.

Last week, a senior delegation from the Hong Kong based shipping line, OOCL, visited Khalifa Port Container Terminal to get a first person view of the facilities and services offered to the Abu Dhabi and UAE trades by ADT – the manager and operator of Abu Dhabi’s three main commercial ports. During the visit an agreement was signed between OOCL and Abu Dhabi Terminals.

“We are proud to welcome OOCL to Khalifa Port. Their CMX service will bring additional diversity to the service offerings of our facility which directly benefits the trade as a whole,” said ADT CEO, Martijn van de Linde.

“The first OOCL vessel call on the CMX service is expected on the 11th of June and will further expand the Khalifa Port Network with direct connection to Ningbo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Singapore, Nansha, Xiamen, Ningbo,” added van de Linde.
