ABP appoints new Head of Engineering and Asset Management

Associated British Ports (ABP) has appointed Brad Crumbleholme as Head of Engineering and Asset Management for the Humber Region.

Crumbleholme has been providing interim assistance to the Humber team for several months, in addition to his present responsibilities as Head of Engineering & Asset Management for Wales & Short Sea Ports (W&SSP) and leader of the ABP-wide Energy Project.

Andrew Dawes, Regional Director for the Humber Ports, said: “I am delighted to welcome Brad as a permanent team member in the Humber.

“He has done an excellent interim job supporting the engineering teams here and we look forward to the opportunity the role will give him to help shape the engineering function and the wider ABP business. His work is a vital component for us to keep Britain trading and help deliver with our energy transition internally.”

Brad Crumbleholme stated: “I am excited to take on this new role and to be working with the Humber team in a permanent capacity. We have great opportunities ahead and having got to know the team here it is clear that we are well positioned to drive Continuous Improvements to the benefit of our customers.”

Crumbleholme joined ABP in 2018 and overhauled the W&SSP Engineering division, including its people and procedures.

He formerly worked for Peel Ports, covering the Mersey Division, for 10 years, and for a multinational stainless-steel producer before that.

Crumbleholme will oversee Engineering and Asset Management at W&SSP until a successor is identified.

In November 2024, ABP announced a measure to strengthen financial support for seafarer welfare facilities at its ports.
