ABB Marine&Ports has released a new 360° video that takes viewers on a virtual tour of the Maasvlakte II container terminal in the Netherlands.
To see the video in 360 degree-view you need to have the latest version of Chrome, Opera, Firefox or Edge installed on your computer.
If you are on mobile you will need the latest version of the YouTube app.
APM Terminals’ Maasvlakte II terminal, open since 2015, is a fully automated facility with zero CO2 impact.
In ABB’s tour, you can visit the quay to see the first remotely operated super quay cranes without driver’s cabin installed, or peek into the yard to see the fully automatic stacking cranes taking care of yard operations.
The terminal has the capability to serve the largest container ships, which require lifting heights of over 50 meters.
ABB’s solution for automation and remote operation of STS cranes allows the crane operators working in a control room located in the terminal building. This improves working ergonomics and helps to reduce the stress on operator’s back and neck.
With no operator on board, automation and remote operation enable using higher speeds and shorter ramp times for higher productivity.
