ABB has recently released a video which shows its integrated solution for managing multiple containerships, thereby reducing maintenance costs and increasing overall operational predictability.
In the video, the automation and power solutions provider says that sensors on board ships can be used for energy monitoring and motion forecasting. The company believes that the integrated solution will be of benefit to the marine industry in terms of harnessing the potential for interconnectivity.
These results have all been made possible through integration of vessels, company headquarters, ABB’s support departments and live data feeds.
It was previously reported by PTI that data could have its use in the maritime industry and could hold the key to increasing connectivity, as well as having applications in the port and terminal industry.
