Tanzania is planning to spend US$10 billion on a new port and special economic zone. APM Terminals has announced recently that it is involved in a joint-venture with Bollore Africa Logistics and the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority for the construction of a $1.5 billion port in Tema, Ghana, which will have a total capacity of 3.5 million TEU. The project consists of an upgrade to the existing road network, as well as a new greenfield port at the Tema Port site.
DP World has been active in projects around the globe, although one of key note is the massive Chinese port project that was recently covered by PTI.
