The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and Hizon International Logistics have signed a contract to establish a logistics zone for unloading and storing containers at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The project, valued at SAR 30 million ($8 million), will cover an area of 47,000-square-metres.
The contract was signed by Eng. Sulaiman bin Khalid Al-Mazrou, President of the Saudi Ports Authority, and Frank Shaw, President of Hizon International Logistics, in the presence of several officials.
Through this logistics zone, Hizon International Logistics will establish facilities for storing goods exported from China, including equipment, electrical components, and other items.
The company will also construct a 20,000-square-metre warehouse to provide diverse storage solutions for its international clients.

The area contributes to providing port logistics services, including specialised logistics facilities such as yards and warehouses that support the logistics sector by handling 600,000 tonnes annually and providing more than 100 direct and indirect jobs in the sector.
It is worth noting that King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam possesses leading operational and logistical capabilities, with 43 fully serviced and equipped berths and a handling capacity of up to 105 million tonnes of goods and containers.
Earlier this month, Mawani announced the addition of the SJA shipping service, operated by Culines, to Jeddah Islamic Port.
