20-year experience offering specialized solutions for managing and optimizing Port Authorities activities has led us to create Posidonia: Port Solution Suite for Port Management
Posidonia is a highly modular suite of products that may be deployed in isolation or together, which cover the vast majority of management processes of a Port Authority.
Port Management Information System (PMIS)

Posidonia Management is a Port Management Information System (PMIS), aimed at the improvement of efficiency in service management supplied by a Port Authority. Its design and construction have been made possible thanks to years of experience, innovation and a firm commitment to using the latest technology. Posidonia Management is a system used by several ports and is continually improving and evolving, thus enabling us to offer made to measure solutions to every client’s demands and needs. The customization of its well defined structure is one of the system’s biggest strengths.
Posidonia Management covers the most of port services, allowing to manage the full life cycle for vessels visits and berthing, integrating external agents requests and EDI interchanges. It manages the cargo declarations and integration with customs and inspection services. All taxable services are billed with a high level of customization depending on users needs like internationationalization, rules, manual or automatic generation, customers different levels of data aggregation, simulation, etc.
Competitive advantages
· Unique environment allowing to manage the main areas of port management.
· Complete port service management.
· Full and functional integration with different ERP.
· Flexible calculation of different port taxes and tariffs.
· Full web service layer able to integrate with external.
· Inclusion in e-administration platforms.
· Possibility of integration with document management systems.
· Easily tailored to the Port Authorities requirements.
· Immediate and fast commissioning.
The Posidonia Management system comprises different modules which operate together or independently from each other: Vessel and berth planning, Port services, Cargo and container, Property management, Billing, Geospatial management, Statistics,
Posidonia Management integrates with the rest of Posidonia Port Solution Suite in a seamless way to make up a full-fledged solution for managing a port.

Port Operation Management System

Posidonia Operations is an Integrated Port Operation Management System highly customizable and allows a port to optimize its maritime operational activities related to the flow of vessels in the port service area, integrating all the relevant stakeholders and computer systems.
It has been designed to meet all the phases of vessel traffic:
· Request
· Berth Planning
· Authorization
· Port approach
· Entry in port’s service area
· Berthing
· Unberthing
· Berth change
· Anchorage start
· Anchorage finish
· Bunkering
· Exit from port
· Waypoint/zone pass-through control (entrance, channel,..)
· etc.
Posidonia Operations is a real-time platform able to connect to AIS (Automatic Identification System), VTS (Vessel Traffic System) or radar, and automatically detect vessel operational events like port arrival, berthing, unberthing, bunkering operations, tugging, etc. comprising a modern VTMIS (Vessel Traffic Management Information System).
It also allows to manage the maritime operations, to control related services like pilots, tugboats, moorers, other services, etc. and to integrate all the information from and towards the PMS (Port Management System) and the PCS (Port Community System).
Posidonia Operations may run under different operation modes: Manual mode, assisted mode and automatic mode depending on port conditions and procedures. With Posidonia Operations a single environment for controlling vessel operations is available, thus avoiding multiple screens with different applications which make it difficult to monitor port operations.
Posidonia Operations integrates with the rest of Posidonia Port Solution Suite in a seamless way to make up a full-fledged solution for managing a port.
POSIDONIA CHE GUI

It is a modern Graphical User Interface (GUI) created for CHE (Container Handling Equipment) operators in their Vehicle Mounted Terminals to make their work easier and error prone, by means of automation and decision helpers. The benefits and capabilties of such solution generates more eficiency and productivity to the terminal operation.
With this practical tool we are able to identify problems and alert the CHE operator to act accordingly. Its main features are:
- Linked with a PDS (Position Determination System) that allows the operator to have an on the spot picture of the work to be carried out with real time updates.
- Integrated to the TOS so the work instructions are shown along with the section view to help operator have visibility of the next action to perform.
- Automatic and continuous control and check up to avoid mistakes such as selecting a work instruction to lift a container at a stack with another container stacked on top of it or choosing a work instruction to drop a container “in the air” while the bottom container has not arrived yet.
- Twist-lock control function. Thanks to the PDS Integration the location of the spreader is also monitored so if the spreader does not match the container position in the work instruction and the twist-lock control function is enabled the system will not allow the twist-lock to operate. Therefore, if the operator tries to drop a container in a different section, stack or tier than the position provided in the work instruction, twist-locks will not be able to release, and a warning message will be displayed to the CHE operator. If this functionality is disabled, twist-lock operations will be granted, however the position will automatically be updated in the TOS, resulting on a 100% of accuracy in container inventory.
- Integration with the PDS plus TT’s (Terminal Tractor) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag reading offers enhanced control tools and process automation for work instruction identification and job promotion. For instance, if the crane operator tries to lift a container from a wrong TT, the system will detect it, not granting twist-lock operation, to ensure that the container will not be lifted from that truck.
- A full display for the CHE operator to have all relevant information at hand, such as:
- TT´s Point of Work (POW) on the job list.
- Container net load, length or type.
- Details of the work intruction,
- Section view of the container stack and more.
Posidonia CHEGUI adds value to terminals:
- Improving the eficiency and productivity by eliminating the most common human mistakes,
- Safer Systems
- Intuitive and easy to use GUI (Graphical user Interface)
- Inventory accuracy with real time updates
- Business Rules updates without programming.
This tool is one of the best ways to enhace the TOS of a terminal, by means of automation that adds value not only to the operator quality of work but to the productivity of the terminal itself.
Posidonia Terminal Fleet Management

Posidonia Terminal Fleet Management is a system that allows Terminal Management to have a realtime picture of TT (Terminal Tractor) and STS (Sea to Shore Crane) locations. This graphical view also displays the activity being performed by each TT, their origin and destination for the current work instruction, allowing the Control Room staff members to quickly identify any potential bottleneck, idle TT´s location, queues or how long a TT can take to reach to its destination.
Every TT is equipped with an Iot Gateway which gather, among other signals, GPS location. These locations are being updated and sent every second to a central stream processor to have the fleet location permanently up to date.
Some of the main features of the system are:
- Dynamic geofencing rules are being applied related to the assigned work instructions. In other words, the system will automatically report to the TOS all progress updates of every work instruction assigned to a TT, whether the TT is receiving or delivering a container.
- No manual intervention of TT driver will be needed as job stepping will be a fully automated process.
- TT´s locations are periodically reported to the TOS at a configurable time, to allow the TOS, to perform a better scheduling and dispatching of work instructions.
- TT drivers always have available a direct communication with the Quay Crane (QC) operator and QC checker he is going to deliver or get a container. Because each time the TOS assigns a new work instruction to a TT, the system reconfigures the radio trunking system of the TT to automatically select the radio channel of the POW the driver is driving towards.
Posdionia Advanced Fleet Management add value to terminals.
For a non-automated terminal, the path to improve efficiency and safety is not only automating CHE and reducing labour cost. Making things easier and simpler for the CHE operators and automating non added value tasks, will provide efficiency and safety improvements at an affordable cost.
Less manual and non-added value interactions mean safer operations for the drivers, less mistakes in the operations and less time reporting to the TOS, which all lead to an increase of efficiency and safety in the operations at the terminal.
