Klaipeda Container Terminal has become the latest terminal to join the Portchain Connect network to improve how berth plans are aligned with shipping lines and vessel operators.
The terminal will implement Portchain Connect as part of its efforts to modernise berth planning and reduce the friction traditionally associated with schedule coordination.
The platform is designed to support structured, digital collaboration between terminals and carriers, replacing manual exchanges with secure, real-time data sharing.
Through Portchain Connect, Klaipeda Container Terminal will be able to receive live vessel schedule updates and move count information directly from carrier systems. This allows terminal planners to respond more quickly to changes, issue counterproposals where needed, and align vessel calls more closely with the terminal’s berth plan.
The aim is to shorten decision-making cycles while improving the accuracy and predictability of berthing windows.

According to the terminal, the move reflects a longer-term focus on data-driven operations and closer cooperation with shipping lines.

Portchain Connect is designed to streamline the flow of schedule information between stakeholders involved in vessel calls. By providing a shared overview of upcoming port calls, the platform helps reduce delays caused by fragmented or outdated data.
Users can securely exchange berthing information, track changes in real time and minimise the reliance on emails, phone calls and other non-digitised communication methods.
