Kaleris has launched Yard Intelligence Suite, a new yard operating solution for container terminals, at TOC Europe 2026.
The company said the system is designed to help terminal operations teams improve yard planning, predictability and throughput by using AI-supported planning and optimisation tools.
According to Kaleris, the suite allows operations teams to design and apply yard management strategies by conversing with the system in their preferred language. The solution is available for terminals using the N4 terminal operating system.
“Terminal operators are being asked to do more with less, managing higher volumes in increasingly constrained yards where utilisation often exceeds 80 per cent. Add in the challenge of recruiting and maintaining skilled terminal staff, and the pressure is relentless,” said Scott Holland, Chief Product Officer at Kaleris.
“At the same time, much of the value in existing systems remains untapped, with operators typically leveraging only a fraction of available capabilities. Yard Intelligence Suite is designed to close that gap, turning data into real-time, decision-ready information that drives performance.”

Yard Intelligence Suite extends Kaleris’ Advanced Optimisation capabilities beyond real-time equipment dispatching and into strategic yard planning.
The company said the solution works alongside RTG Optimisation and Terminal Truck Optimisation to support more efficient yard execution.
The suite is designed to help terminals position containers more effectively, identify operational imbalances before they develop and support continuous cargo flow across yard operations.
Kaleris said its Advanced Optimisation solutions allow terminals to plan resources more precisely and make operational trade-offs with real-time visibility across landside and waterside container handling equipment through N4.

The Yard Intelligence Suite includes tools for identifying potential congestion and yard imbalances hours in advance. It can evaluate alternative scenarios and recommend pre-emptive moves, while giving planners visibility into the logic behind each recommendation.
The system also uses smart stacking algorithms that consider current yard conditions and predicted delivery schedules. These are intended to guide container placement, reduce future rehandles and maintain yard fluidity.
Kaleris said the suite supports outcome-based optimisation by moving away from static rules and manual tuning towards dynamic visibility into yard performance.
The solution also includes an AI augmentation layer for daily terminal operations. This includes a Configuration Wizard to help planners define strategies, priorities and constraints in line with terminal objectives, as well as a Monitor & Prediction capability to process multiple scenarios, assess future risks and recommend actions aligned with operational intent.
