HAROPA PORT Rouen posts best-ever grain campaign
HAROPA PORT shipped a total of 8.4 million tonnes of grain through the Rouen terminals during the 2025/2026 grain marketing year.

The outstanding performance reflects the strong rebound in French grain exports and ranks among the best campaigns ever recorded at the port.

The results for the grain marketing year ending 30 June 2026 show a 61 per cent increase compared with the previous campaign’s 5.2 million tonnes, and volumes stand well above the ten-year average of 7.4 million tonnes.

Despite strong competition from other French ports, HAROPA PORT maintained a market share exceeding 50 per cent of France’s seaborne grain exports.

Milling wheat accounted for 5.6 million tonnes of exports, while barley represented 2.6 million tonnes, marking the third-best barley export campaign ever achieved by Rouen operators, driven by the crop’s quality and competitiveness on international markets.

Grain shipments were complemented by exports of oilseeds, protein crops and malt, adding a further 0.6 million tonnes to total export volumes.

Grain loaded in Rouen was shipped to 41 different countries during the campaign. Morocco remained the leading importer of wheat, taking 2.6 million tonnes, reflecting the impact of drought and poor harvests in the country.

China ranked second with 578,000 tonnes, followed by Côte d’Ivoire with 520,000 tonnes, while Saudi Arabia imported 500,000 tonnes of barley.

By region, exports reached 3.4 million tonnes to the Maghreb, 1.3 million tonnes to West Africa, and 1.5 million tonnes to European countries.
