Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam has received new quay cranes for its ECT Euromax terminal.
The equipment arrived aboard the Zhen Hua on 9 April.
ECT had already signalled in March that new quay and ARMG cranes were due to be delivered as part of the ongoing expansion of the Euromax terminal. The company said the arrival of the equipment would require temporary use of part of the quay and lead to a short period of limited handling capacity.
According to ECT, the temporary impact at Euromax was expected to affect barge and feeder handling for around two weeks, subject to the vessel’s arrival. The company also warned of higher service times for trucks during the unloading period.
The delivery comes as ECT continues work on the expansion of the Euromax terminal and broader operational changes at the site, including the rollout of its new terminal operating system earlier this year.
