DP World has launched Egypt’s first fully integrated Logistics Distribution Centre (LDC) at Sokhna Logistics Park.
The facility is designed to let international companies access the Egyptian market while serving regional and global customers from a single hub.
The launch ceremony was attended by Dr Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, alongside senior Egyptian officials and representatives of international companies.
It coincided with the first visit to Egypt by Essa Kazim, who recently took over as Chairman of DP World, and included the signing of agreements with the first three global customers to use the centre’s services.
Through the LDC, DP World offers an end-to-end supply chain solution covering international freight forwarding, port services at Sokhna Port, warehousing, inventory management, order fulfilment, customs facilitation, transportation coordination and value-added services such as assembly, packaging and product customisation.
The model allows companies to serve local, regional and international markets from one location while retaining ownership of inventory until final distribution.
The facility sits adjacent to Sokhna Port within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, giving it direct access to one of the world’s key trade corridors.

The first three customers span different sectors. A Kenya-based tea exporter, handling around 1,000 TEUs annually into Egypt, will use the LDC as a regional inventory hub to serve markets across Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
A leading global consumer goods distributor will use the facility to support operations across eight markets in Saudi Arabia, the Levant and the Horn of Africa, supported by a dedicated temperature-controlled facility within the park.

A German multinational specialising in fibre-optic cables and digital infrastructure will use the centre to strengthen distribution and re-export capabilities across Egypt, North Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
