DP World and the International Cricket Council (ICC) have delivered a repurposed shipping container and cricket equipment to Stanford-le-Hope Cricket Club in Essex, close to DP World’s London Gateway logistics hub.
The delivery forms part of DP World’s Beyond Boundaries Initiative and comes as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 takes place in the UK. The latest phase saw DP World deliver its fifteenth repurposed shipping container, alongside 250 cricket kits for young players.
Former England cricketer and commentator Ebony Rainford-Brent MBE supported the event, which also included the unveiling of three synthetic cricket nets. The nets were donated to the club through DP World’s London Gateway Freeport Community Investment Fund (LGFCIF).
The container will provide dedicated storage for cricket equipment and has been fitted with solar panels to support its day-to-day use. Each cricket kit includes a bat, ball, pads, helmet and bag. The kits will be distributed to Colts junior players at Stanford-le-Hope Cricket Club and pupils at Abbots Hall Primary Academy and Arthur Bugler Primary School.

As the Women’s T20 World Cup inspires a new generation, initiatives like this can help ensure more young people, including girls, have the opportunity to pick up a bat and play.”
DP World is also continuing its kits-for-runs scheme during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Under the scheme, which began during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023, DP World will deliver 10 cricket kits to grassroots cricket for every 100 runs scored at ICC pinnacle events, split equally between boys and girls.
Since launching in 2023, the Beyond Boundaries Initiative has delivered 15 repurposed shipping containers and 3,550 cricket kits across eight countries and four continents. The Stanford-le-Hope delivery is the second UK installation, following a previous delivery with the MCC Foundation at Lord’s Cricket Ground last year.
