As CTAC Europe marks its 10th edition, the focus is firmly on how terminals are translating automation into real operational value. In this series, we speak with the voices you will hear on stage at CTAC Europe 2026, sharing their perspectives on the technologies, challenges, and opportunities shaping terminal operations.

Today, we sit down with Joan Carbó Martínez, Equipment Project Engineer at APM Terminals, who contributes to digitalisation, modernisation, and operational improvement projects across critical terminal equipment. His background combines industrial engineering with previous experience in the automotive sector, where he worked on innovation and emerging technology initiatives. He also manages CAPEX investments related to equipment modernisation and renewal, working closely with operations, maintenance, and suppliers to ensure practical and value-driven solutions.
