COSCO SHIPPING Lines launches new route to Peru
COSCO SHIPPING Lines has launched a “New Year Budget-Friendly Route” from Shanghai to Peru, integrating sea freight and postal customs clearance through the “Shanghai-Chancay” direct shipping service.

For the first time, Chinese cross-border e-commerce goods have entered the Peruvian consumer market via the “sea transportation + postal clearance” model.

This new logistics channel will make online purchases of Chinese products more cost-effective for Peruvian shoppers. Previously, imports relied solely on air freight, resulting in excessively high logistics costs.

With this new service, upon arrival at the Port of Chancay, Peru Post handles customs clearance and last-mile delivery, ensuring smooth connectivity throughout the process.

The sea freight model not only lowers end-consumer prices but also benefits from maritime shipping’s stability and economies of scale, improving commodity supply continuity and expanding consumer choice.

“This collaboration between COSCO SHIPPING Lines and Peru Post has established a reliable and cost-effective cross-border shopping channel, effectively converting the benefits of logistics innovation into tangible gains for the people,” the company reported.

Last October, COSCO Shipping Ports completed its acquisition of a 12.5 per cent stake in Thai Laem Chabang Terminal and a 30 per cent stake in Hutchison Laem Chabang Terminal.
