Contship Italia Group has reported a 10.9 per cent rise in net revenues to €293 million ($343 million) in 2025.
The performance reflects gains across both terminal and intermodal operations, supported by a more integrated logistics model and ongoing investment in capacity and infrastructure.
Tommaso Ferrario, Chief Financial Officer of Contship, said: “2025 marks a further step in the Group’s solid and steady growth path: Contship continued to strengthen its intermodal activities and decisively enhance its maritime terminal operations. Performance was supported by both maritime and inland terminals, as well as by intermodal transport. At consolidated level, net profit increased by +16.7 per cent.”
The maritime segment, led by La Spezia Container Terminal, recorded revenue growth despite operational constraints, including partial closure of the Fornelli pier and the restructuring of global shipping alliances.
The terminal maintained operational continuity, limiting any impact on throughput, while advancing preparatory work on the Ravano Terminal expansion project.

On the landside, Contship’s intermodal division – including Sogemar, Hannibal, Oceanogate, Rail Hub Milano and driveMybox – delivered a fifth consecutive year of growth, supported by new service development and expanded European connections, despite ongoing infrastructure limitations.
The Group also strengthened its service offering through the acquisition of STS Group in June 2025, enhancing customs capabilities and contributing to a workforce increase to 1,150 employees by year-end.
From a port development perspective, investment remains focused on capacity expansion and operational efficiency.
This includes works at La Spezia and the ramp-up of operations at Damietta Terminal, alongside broader integration of inland logistics networks.
Matthieu Gasselin, Chief Executive Officer of Contship, stated: “The start of operations at the Damietta Terminal, the launch of expansion works at La Spezia in the second half of the year, and continued investment in intermodal logistics represent key drivers of growth and value creation for the Group. At the same time, we are actively exploring new opportunities aligned with our long-term vision to further strengthen our position in strategic sectors.”
In January 2026, the Digital Container Shipping Association announced that Contship joined DCSA+, becoming the programme’s first terminal operator partner.
