Contargo acquires stake in Cargo-Center-Graz Logistik
Contargo has taken over 50 per cent of the shares of Cargo-Center-Graz Logistik GmbH (CCGL).

The partnership strengthens both sides: Contargo extends its network to include the Adriatic ports, while CCGL will be linked by rail in future to the Contargo network.

CCGL at Cargo Terminal Graz functions as a central logistics platform and organises block trains between Graz and the southern ports plus pre-carriage and on-carriage by truck from Graz, as well as performing the entire operative scheduling and dispatch.

At present CCGL operates the following round trips:

• Koper–Bilk–Enns–Koper: one round trip per week

• Koper–Graz–Koper: four round trips per week, with an increase to six trips per week planned in 2026

• Graz–Enns–Graz: two round trips per week

The central focus is on a sustainable connection between German industry, the Austrian markets, the Adriatic ports and the South East European economic region. As well as containers, trailers will be transported along this route in future.

It is planned to connect the hub in Graz with the Contargo network by rail this year, initially in the Frankfurt-Wörth region.

Thus, customers will reportedly benefit from a direct, sustainable rail connection to the Adriatic ports and the markets of South East Europe.

The cooperation is geared to long-term growth. As an initial step, additional Adriatic ports will be connected to the hub in Graz.

Last October, Container terminal Rijeka Gateway celebrated its official inauguration in an event attended by more than 300 guests, including the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
