CICE Veracruz has joined the Portchain Connect network to strengthen berth planning coordination with shipping lines through improved data sharing.
The terminal will use the platform to exchange schedule information directly with carriers, with the aim of improving visibility over vessel arrivals and operational requirements.
By receiving real-time updates on schedules and move counts, CICE Veracruz is expected to respond more quickly to changes and align vessel calls with berth availability.
The implementation reflects a broader effort across terminals to reduce reliance on fragmented communication and manual processes, which can lead to delays and last-minute adjustments in berth planning.
“Portchain Connect gives us earlier visibility into vessel schedules and changes. This allows our team to plan berth operations with more confidence, reduce last-minute adjustments, and support the growth of container volumes at the Port of Veracruz,” said Omar Lima Castillo, Director of Port Terminals at CICE.

Portchain Connect enables terminals and carriers to share and receive schedule data through a single platform, providing an overview of vessel calls and allowing users to align berthing windows more efficiently.
The system is also intended to reduce delays linked to slow or inconsistent data exchange.
