Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), India’s largest Integrated Transport Utility, has become a Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Adopter, committing to TNFD-aligned reporting on nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities.
As India’s first integrated transport utility to adopt the TNFD framework, APSEZ sets a benchmark for nature-positive infrastructure development.
The TNFD, a global science-based initiative backed by the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), UNDP, WWF, and Global Canopy, guides companies in assessing, managing, and disclosing nature-related risks and opportunities.
APSEZ joins a select group of global port operators championing biodiversity.
Starting FY26, APSEZ will enhance corporate disclosures to align with TNFD recommendations, reflecting a proactive approach to managing nature-related impacts and dependencies.

This step complements APSEZ’s broader ESG strategy and builds on existing climate risk assessment and disclosure practices aligned with global frameworks.
The company has afforested over 4,200 hectares of mangroves and actively conserves another 3,000 hectares, making it India’s largest private contributor to mangrove ecosystem restoration.
These initiatives strengthen biodiversity, provide natural climate risk buffers, and support long-term business resilience.
Ashwani Gupta, Whole-Time Director & CEO of APSEZ, said: “Responsible business practices drive long-term success. Our adoption of the TNFD framework demonstrates support for nature-related corporate reporting at COP30. Nature-related risks are strategic priorities, and the TNFD provides robust guidance for integrating biodiversity considerations into decision-making and advancing conservation efforts.”
In October, Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, and Google announced a partnership to develop India’s largest AI data centre campus and green energy infrastructure in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
