Alabama Port Authority Director and CEO, Doug Otto, announced his executive leadership team, assembled to support the next phase of the port’s growth and strengthen its role in driving state-wide economic development.
The team includes the port’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Engineering Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, alongside newly created roles of Chief Development Officer and Chief Policy Officer.
Together, they focus on a unified growth strategy to enhance core operations, invest in infrastructure and capacity, and collaborate with public and private partners to promote long-term economic development across Alabama.
This integrated approach ensures execution, growth, and governance stay closely aligned as the port expands its role as a critical driver of the state’s economy.
Alex King, Chief Operating Officer, will oversee operational strategy, focusing on growth at the McDuffie Coal, Pinto Steel and General Cargo terminals, increasing volumes, productivity and advancing modernisation initiatives to expand capacity and improve service for Alabama’s key industries.
As Chief Development Officer, Maggie Oliver will lead marketing, communications and economic development, advancing a statewide strategy to increase cargo volumes by attracting new industries and aligning investment with Alabama’s infrastructure strengths.
As Chief Policy Officer, Catherine Reaves will lead policy, government affairs and board governance, ensuring alignment between leadership, the Board and external stakeholders.
Jason Krick, Chief Engineering Officer, will oversee capital planning and infrastructure delivery, advancing modernisation and expansion initiatives to support increased capacity.
Chris Ransom, Chief Financial Officer since 2023, leads financial strategy and capital planning and is serving as interim COO until King assumes the role on 1 March.
