A video released recently by Abu Dhabi Ports outlines a master-plan for achieving economic diversification in the next two decades.

Integral to this master-plan is Khalifa Port, the first semi-automated container terminal in the United Arab Emirates, and its adjacent trade and logistics zone, Kizad.

Central to its capabilities as a global hub include a sophisticated road network, close proximity to three international airports and full-integration with Etihad Rail.

Martijn Van de Linde, CEO of Abu Dhabi Terminals, said: “Being the first automated terminal in the region allows us to deliver service-levels that are not seen here before, in terms of productivity, in terms of the speed in which we service ships and also the speed in which we handle and turn around trucks.

“We currently serve already more than 52 international destinations directly here from Khalifa Port Container Terminal, so all of this to the benefit of the Khalifa industrial zone and its customers.”
