The New Alliance Marine Training Centre (NAMTC) has joined the Transas Global ECDIS Training Network (GET-Net) to allow shipping companies to benefit from ECDIS training from the first Transas GET-Net partner in China.

Transas seems to be making its presence felt in Asia, after recently receiving ECDIS type approval from the Korean Registry, one of few companies to receive this type of approval from the Korean Maritime Authority.

The NAMTC was established in Wuhan, China in April, 2009, with the main objectives being to provide training services for ship owners and operators and help Chinese seafarers in improving their competence to meet the requirements of the global maritime market.

In the past years, NAMTC has trained more than 20,000 seafarers who worked for more than 50 of the world's leading shipping companies.

Transas: Mastering Core Port Activities

NAMTC plans to extend their Transas installations from a single classroom to a full-mission bridge simulator featuring a 360° field of vision, Offshore and Engine Room Simulator ERS 5000 TechSim.

With almost 40 GET-Net partners around the world, Transas’ network of type-specific training providers is now the largest in the world, offering ECDIS training in accordance with the STCW 2010 requirements.
