Terex Port Solutions (TPS) has won the contract to supply an additional six rubber-tyred gantry cranes of the E-RTG variant to Haiphong port, Vietnam.

The cranes are capable of covering six rows of containers and a truck lane due to their span of 23.47m and a hoist-height of 18m. They also have a lifting capacity of 40t under spreader.

Phung Xuan Ha, chairman of Haiphong Port said: “Our port has developed into the main goods transport hub between Vietnam, Laos and China, and is showing enormous growth rates.”

The six cranes will be in operation from mid-2015, where twelve identical Terex cranes ordered in September 2013 will begin operating at the end of 2014.

Maurizio Altieri, general manager of the TPS facility in Xiamen said: “Vietnam is new territory for our rubber-tyred gantry cranes, and the fact that there will be 18 cranes in operation from 2015 shows enormous confidence in our technology.”

All 18 cranes are being manufactured at the TPS facility in Xiamen, China.
