For November, 2014 and the year-to-date, COSCO has reported strong volume increases at most of its major ports.
According to Seatrade Global, throughput at its Bohai Rim ports in Northern China was 10.3% higher than 2013.
TEU throughput was recorded at just over two million, up from 1.87 million in 2013.
For the first 11 months of 2014, throughput rose 6.5% to more than 23 million TEU.
COSCO’s Hong Kong terminal operations and some of its ports in the Pearl River Delta region saw an increase of 19.9% to more than 1.7 million TEU in November, 2014.
COSCO’s operations in Piraeus and Suez are also performing well, with November throughput rising 12.3% to more than 800,000 TEU.
