Christchurch's Lyttelton Port expects to be operating as normal within the next few days, after yet another earthquakedamaged port infrastructure earlier this week.

Following engineering assessments carried out at the port's main facilities over the past few days, it has been discovered that minimal damage was suffered, according to a statement released by the port.

The Port's oil berth facilities are expected to reopen on Monday, whilst rail freight operations have already returned to normal.

As PTI reported on Monday the Christchurch region suffered two earthquakes measuring 5.2 and 6.0 on the Richter scale - no injuries were sustained.
