Gavin van Marle has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief at Port Technology International.

Gavin has been a respected member of the maritime community for many years, having worked as the editor of IFW and as a senior reporter covering container shipping, freight, and finance sectors at the company’s sister publication, Lloyds List.

In addition to other awards, he has also been voted Journalist of the Year on two separate occasions by the transport media and communication organization the Seahorse Club, in recognition of his contribution to IFW in 2009 and outstanding work for Lloyd’s List and then as a freelance journalist in 2011.

“I am very pleased to join PTI, a well-established and respected journal for the ports industry, which has a proven track record in its coverage of every aspect of port management and operations, and I look forward to helping develop its print and online publications,” commented Gavin.

Port Technology International is both a quarterly technical journal and online news hub, reporting news and progress at ports, terminals and harbors globally.
