Noatum, the largest terminal operator in Spain, has appointed Kim Gadegaard as the company’s new Commercial Director.
Gadegaard has considerable experience in international maritime management and transportation working at A.P.Moller – Maersk for more than 30 years.
The last two years he has been engaged as a senior consultant for Mercator advising on Terminals acquisitions and shipping line restructuring.
Kim held a range of senior positions in Maersk including President in several key markets such as China and South America.
Before that, he was named Managing Director of Maersk Line Singapore, Malaysia and Panama, and he was also Vice President of Maersk INC USA where he was responsible for all offices and agents in Central America and the Caribbean.
In 2007, he was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Danish-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce for his outstanding contribution to the Danish business in Brazil.
Kim Gadegaard joins Noatum just after the acquisition of Dragados SPL from ACS in November 2010, by a consortium of institutional investors under the consultation of JP Morgan Asset Management and the Dutch pension fund ABP.
Noatum Ports operates a number of terminals in Spain, including in Bilbao (Noatum Container Terminal Bilbao), Valencia (Noatum Container Terminal Valencia), Málaga (Noatum Container Terminal Málaga) and Las Palmas (Operaciones Canarias Las Palmas, OPCSA).
