CMA CGM and its O3 partners have decided to harmonise their FAL2 and FAL3 offerings in order to adapt to the current market situation between Asia and Europe and offer a new optimised rotation.

The new FAL 23 service aims to provide answers to customer needs by offering transit times amongst the “best on the market” – especially between Asia and Le Havre, Rotterdam and Antwerp, as well as Vietnam being directly served with a new call at Cai Mep Deep Sea terminal in Ho Chi Minh City, among other factors.

Starting October 13, 2015 in Asia, 12,000 to 15,000 TEU vessels will follow the new rotation.

The new rotation will start in the eastbound from Antwerp on September 28, 2015 with the CMA CGM La Perouse.

A new call at Qingdao has also been added on the FAL1 service from mid-August 2015.

Transit times from Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian and Port Kelang to Algeciras, Southampton, Dunkirk and Hamburg will be reduced by 3 days.

Nicolas Sartini, Group Senior Vice President of Asia for Europe trades, said: “For the fourth quarter, CMA CGM adjusts its capacity to demand and improves significantly its services to answer clients’ needs. Covering directly Vietnam proves the increasing importance of this new developing market.”

Fact File: CMA CGM’s 467 vessels call at more than 400 ports around the world, on all 5 continents. In 2014, it carried 12.2 million TEU. With a presence in 160 countries, through its 655 agencies network, the group employs 22,000 people worldwide, including 2,400 in its headquarter in Marseilles, France.
