StocExpo 2014 is celebrating another record year, with 200 companies exhibiting and nearly 3,000 people in attendance.

Hosted at Ahoy, Rotterdam on 18th-20th March, StocExpo 2014 broke records with 2,942 people in attendance, 32 percent larger than that last year.

Daniras Garmus, managing director at Skysciu Perpylimo was one of the many senior executives visiting the rapidly expanding event. Speaking of the event she said “It is the only exhibition in Europe for petrochemical engineers and those who are related with that industry. You can find all the main suppliers/producers of equipment for oil terminals and famous engineering companies there.”

Ruben Mertens, engineer at Lanxess NV agreed: “If you're active in the tank industry, it is a must to participate in StocExpo. For meeting new people and finding new technologies it's an excellent opportunity.”

All across the board, reaction to the event was positive: According to independent research on behalf of the organisers, 82% of visitors rated their experience at the event as good or excellent, while 73% would recommend the event to a colleague, and 58% of all visitors have placed or will place an order with an exhibitor as a direct result of attending StocExpo.

The three-day conference which sits at the heart of StocExpo also attracted record numbers – almost doubling since 2013, with over 200 delegates. The conference featured talks by 20 world class speakers drawn from around the world. Talks explored cutting edge industry issues, macroeconomic trends and latest technologies.

Conference attendee, John C Chaplin, projects director at the Bristol Port Company said “It was an excellent conference, and a superb exhibition!”

StocExpo 2014 was also used as the launch-pad for new products and services, for instance Honeywell Enraf launched its Fusion 4 MSC-L, TTK unveiled its Hydrocarbon Sense Cables, while Protego chose StocExpo to debut two new products – The Protego EB and The Emergency Pressure Relief Valve Protego ER-V-LP.

Exhibitor Thomas Uhl, sales engineer at MPT explained why his company decided to exhibit at the show: “We visited StocExpo last year, liked what we saw and so decided to exhibit this year. That decision has been a good one as the show is perfect for promoting the Pulsair mixing side of our business.

“We attended three different shows last year and in one hour at StocExpo we made more contacts than we made at all three of the other shows combined! That's why rebooking for StocExpo 2015 has been an easy decision”

Tom Weyns, business unit manager at Chubb Ajax added: “We really value StocExpo because in a few days you meet everyone you need to meet, both established contacts and major new prospects. We could never reach this many people in such a short time.”

Jake Morrison, event manager of StocExpo, summated the overall feeling at the event, saying: “It’s fantastic to hear feedback like this and to see the show floor growing at such a rapid rate. The fact that so many exhibitors used StocExpo to launch products and services underscores its importance. StocExpo is fast becoming Europe’s leading event for terminal operators, oil companies, traders, regulators and equipment suppliers to gather and do business – everyone now have it in their diaries.”

StockExpo 2015 is sure to provide the same and much more, and will be hosted at Ahoy, Rotterdam from 17th to 19th March 2015.
