Port Canaveral elects new Chairman Feb 03, 2010 Port Canaveral elects new Chairman Rockledge business owner Tom Goodson will serve a second consecutive term as Chairman of the Canaveral Port Authority Board. The unanimous decision came during the election of officers at the first Commission meeting of the year.
Goodson, elected to the Commission from District 3 in 2002, owns his own paving company.
 
Elected as vice chairman was Joe Matheny, a Titusville resident who has served on the Commission from District 2 since 1998. Matheny is an attorney with his own firm.
 
Cocoa Beach resident Malcolm ‘Mac’ McLouth, the Port’s former Executive Director who previously served on the Board for nearly 3 decades, was chosen   as Secretary Treasurer. He was elected to the Board in November 2008 to represent District 5.  

Also serving on the Board is Titusville resident Raymond Sharkey, a retired aerospace manager elected from District 1 in 1995. He served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force and is retired from Lockheed-Martin.




Intermodal transportation: The next wave?Holidays are almost over, for those lucky enough to go on vacation. I spent my time away from the sea, and well above sea level. Just for reassurance. As you might know, the majority of Dutch grounds are below sea level (about 65%), and we keep dry feet by pumping water. Without that, we would build our sandcastle around "Amersfoort at the Sea" (a city some 80km inland). However, spending time in the Alps, some 800m above sea level, my rectangular box driven mind did not come to a complete standstill, wondering about hinterland transportation.
New Strategy & Development Director appointed at Dunkerque PortJean-Frédéric Laurent has just been appointed Strategy and Development Director of Dunkerque Port, replacing Pierre Joly on his retirement. He is 41.
