Gulf Ports ready to receive world’s largest cruise ship next January
Next January the Brilliance of The Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, is scheduled to visit the ports of UAE, Oman and Bahrain.
The vessel's operator Royal Caribbean International is a market leader of major cruise ships management and operation. Brilliance is will visit Dubai port first on the 18th of January 2010, followed by 7 nights in Gulf Area and Oman Sea at: Muscat, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain port.This voyage to the gulf marks down the initiation of Royal Caribbean's official operation in ME markets. VTS and Aids to Navigation, Radar, AIS, VTMIS, Infra-red, VHF, GPS, Marker and Navigator Buoys, LED Lights, Thermal Imaging, Fenders, Tugs, Docking Systems, Corrosion, Pilings, Cathodic Protection, Single Point Mooring, Mooring Hooks

Intermodal transportation: The next wave?
Holidays are almost over, for those lucky enough to go on vacation. I spent my time away from the sea, and well above sea level. Just for reassurance. As you might know, the majority of Dutch grounds are below sea level (about 65%), and we keep dry feet by pumping water. Without that, we would build our sandcastle around "Amersfoort at the Sea" (a city some 80km inland).
However, spending time in the Alps, some 800m above sea level, my rectangular box driven mind did not come to a complete standstill, wondering about hinterland transportation.
