GE Security and SAIC discuss security issues in SecurityStockWatch.com interviews
“CommerceGuard is a full security system that provides intrusion detection for cargo containers. Shippers who have taken measures to use trusted sources want to be sure their cargo remains secure along its journey, especially during the vulnerable leg of transport between the factory and the first seaport. CommerceGuard “fills a gap” in securing today’s maritime shipments by alerting officials and cargo owners if a container has been opened without authorization during its journey.” TThese are among the comments and observations by Mr. Randy Koch, president and CEO, CommerceGuard AB and GM, cargo security, GE Security, (NYSE: GE). The complete interview is available here: http://www.securitystockwatch.com/Interviews/in_Boardroom_GE2.html .
And, Mr. Larry Cox, Senior Vice President, Intelligence and Information Solutions, Business Unit General Manager, SAIC (NYSE:SAI) told us, “For the DHS CBP Security and technology Branch, SAIC will perform work including certification and accreditation, security risk assessments, security test and evaluation, system architecture, communication security services, and technology policy and administration.” Read the entire interview here: http://www.securitystockwatch.com/Interviews/in_Boardroom_SAI.html . Intermodal transportation: The next wave?
Holidays are almost over, for those lucky enough to go on vacation. I spent my time away from the sea, and well above sea level. Just for reassurance. As you might know, the majority of Dutch grounds are below sea level (about 65%), and we keep dry feet by pumping water. Without that, we would build our sandcastle around "Amersfoort at the Sea" (a city some 80km inland).
However, spending time in the Alps, some 800m above sea level, my rectangular box driven mind did not come to a complete standstill, wondering about hinterland transportation.
