MachineTalker's cargo monitoring and security capabilities in the spotlight
Article describes MTKN's 'smart RFID' technology and its future role in providing improved port security MachineTalker, Inc. developer of smart wireless security networks and tracking systems, reports that the company's CEO, Roland F. Bryan, was recently featured in an in-depth article in the "Santa Barbara Daily Sound". The article showcases one of the key projects that MachineTalker(R) is currently working on with two of the country's largest prime defense contractors. Highlighting the role that the company's MachineTalker products are expected to fill in safeguarding the USA's shipping trade, the piece describes a scenario in which the Talkers(R) use their ability to monitor multiple sensors (for cargo doors, temperature, motion, gasses, and other parameters) to secure cargo pallets and cargo containers on a transoceanic freighter. The writer shows how MachineTalker's intelligent RFID devices can then automatically alert the Coast Guard to the fact that one of the cargo containers had been tampered with. "We are an ideal solution for the enormous challenge of making international trade secure," Bryan commented. "Using our Talkers(R) enables the containers themselves to take an active role in the security process, in contrast to the inadequate passive systems available today." Similar articles
Intermodal transportation: The next wave?
Holidays are almost over, for those lucky enough to go on vacation. I spent my time away from the sea, and well above sea level. Just for reassurance. As you might know, the majority of Dutch grounds are below sea level (about 65%), and we keep dry feet by pumping water. Without that, we would build our sandcastle around "Amersfoort at the Sea" (a city some 80km inland).
However, spending time in the Alps, some 800m above sea level, my rectangular box driven mind did not come to a complete standstill, wondering about hinterland transportation.
