Human Recognition Systems awarded by SaBRE
Human Recognition Systems receives Supportive Employer Award from the Secretary of State for Defence, John Hutton at this year's SaBRE Annual Dinner Event for their support of the Volunteer Reserve Forces.
Hosted by The Lord Lieutenant, Dame Lorna Muirhead the event was attended by over 80 representatives from 43 organisations in the North West. Dame Lorna Muirhead announced the event was to thank employers for their continuing commitment to supporting their Reservist employees by allowing them time for weekend training, annual camp or mobilisation. She said that she appreciated just how much support employers gave to their people who were members of the Volunteer Reserve Forces.
Human Recognition Systems representative and Reserve Volunteer, Andy Tang, was present to collect the award from Dame Lorna Muirhead. As Project Manager specialising in delivering MoD projects, Andy is fully aware of the benefits of the SaBRE campaign to both businesses and the Reserves, he comments "In an environment where more reserve volunteers are called upon to support deployed operations, the work of SaBRE is crucial. I have previously deployed as a member of the TA and SaBRE provided all the information my manager needed such as the company's obligations and employer support he was entitled to." The SaBRE campaign seeks to liaise between organisations and any members of their staff who belong to the Volunteer Reserve Forces, with the aim of enhancing employer/Reservist relationships. The campaign also supports employers of Reservists, by providing information and advice on any relevant issues, and giving them a sympathetic ear and a strong voice within the MOD.
Intermodal transportation: The next wave?
Holidays are almost over, for those lucky enough to go on vacation. I spent my time away from the sea, and well above sea level. Just for reassurance. As you might know, the majority of Dutch grounds are below sea level (about 65%), and we keep dry feet by pumping water. Without that, we would build our sandcastle around "Amersfoort at the Sea" (a city some 80km inland).
However, spending time in the Alps, some 800m above sea level, my rectangular box driven mind did not come to a complete standstill, wondering about hinterland transportation.
